Tool and Mold Making Services

Offering tooling & die making services, Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association (RTMA) can manufacture tooling up to 36" long by 36" wide and 144" in height, while meeting precision tolerances of +/- 0.001". We put our own machining expertise to use in our tooling services, with capabilities including wire EDM, CNC machining, manual machining, grinding and wet grinding. We typically work with A-2 and D-2 tool steels, and also have experience with M-2 tool steel and stainless steel. Our specialty is working with injection molding shops and manufacturers in the automotive industry, and we also work with electronics manufacturers and government contracts. Products that our dies are used for include airguns, PCBs, safes, washers, and windows.

Our typical lead time for the design and build of progressive dies is two months, and we have a Kan-Ban delivery service available. Other die types that we build include compound dies, four-slide dies, coining dies, forming dies, and blanking dies. Our engineers provide 2-D and 3-D CAD modeling services, as well as reverse engineering, design, inspection, and patent assistance services.
